Verkostnotiz Falstaff:Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Einladende dunkle Beerenfrucht, Brombeeren, frische Kirschen, zarte Edelholzwürze, kandierte Orangenzesten sind unterlegt. Saftig, engmaschig, reife dunkle Beeren, integrierte, tragende Tannine, lebendig strukturiert, kalkige Frische, bleibt gut haften, rotbeerige Nuancen im Abgang, ein lebendiger, animierender Stil, keine Spur von Opulenz, salziger Nachhall, gute Länge und sicheres Reifepotenzial.

Such perfume on the nose, it’s almost intoxicating, the Merlot is so expressive, almost explosive on the nose. Floral, savoury, spiced. Round, glossy, bright and intense - all the markings of a great wine here. Fleshy tannins, chewy but so juicy at the same time, underpinned by salty, stony flavours plus fresh mint, dried herbs and a touch of liquorice. Great mouthfeel and texture. No doubt about ripeness, but this really retains joy, brightness and fun. One of the best Pavies. Excellent, flavours linger for a long long time. Elegant, precise, finessed.

The depth and intensity is really out of this world. The richness is there, but it's all in balance and has an almost weightless feel to it. It's medium- to full-bodied with purity and definition, and the magic of limestone soils keeps the pH low, giving energy, bright acidity and verve. Terrific young red. 51% merlot, 32% cabernet franc and 17% cabernet sauvignon.
